Love Island fans slam ‘predictable’ series as another cliffhanger ‘ruins’ twist

Love Island fans were left annoyed at the show amid a double dumping twist, as the episode ended on yet another cliffhanger.

Six Islanders were told they were at risk of being ditched then and there, and it was up to the remaining Islanders to decide who goes.

While the dumping has already taken place, viewers will not find out who goes until Wednesday night’s episode – despite the scenes appearing to be filmed on Monday night.

Faye Winter shocked the villa during Tuesday’s episode when she confirmed something was happening, before the drama got underway.

Receiving a text message, she read out: “Islanders. Can you all gather around the fire pit.”

As they all sat down, Hugo Hammond was next to get a message where he alerted his co-stars that one or more than one Islander was leaving.

He said: “The public have been voting for their favourite girl and favourite boy.

“Those with the fewest votes are at risk of being dumped from the Island tonight.”

Lucinda Strafford, Chloe Burrows and AJ Bunker were all voted the least favourite girls by viewers, it was soon revealed, leaving them at risk.

Teddy Soares, Danny Bibby and Toby Aromolaran were then confirmed to be the boys at risk of being ditched.

There was a twist though, as another text soon confirmed only one girl and one boy would be dumped then and there.

But the choice was in the hands of those who were safe from the vote, leaving them devastated at what was ahead.

The episode ended before any decisions were made, meaning fans had to wait until Wednesday – and they were not impressed in the slightest.

Taking to Twitter, many called out the show for the repeated use of cliffhangers saying it lost its impact as it happened so often.

The show has featured a cliffhanger for every single dumping this series, with viewers having to watch anywhere between two to three episodes just to find out who leaves the villa.

One viewer said: “Producers dropping yet another cliffhanger AND 3 bombshells at the end of tonight’s episode like we expect anything less from them this series.”

Another agreed: “Dear @LoveIsland, when you make every single dumping/recoupling/episode a cliffhanger it removes all impact. It’s just annoying.”

A third agreed: “I can’t deal with another cliffhanger,” while a fourth said: “Not another cliffhanger… fire the producers.”

This was echoed by a fifth viewer who commented: “There ain’t no cliffhanger in this crap anymore. This show is so dead. See you tomorrow at 9pm.”

Meanwhile, a sixth viewer tweeted: “Can we get a petition going where it goes to parliament where #loveisland doesn’t finish on a cliffhanger.”

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
