Chelsea are set to ramp up their transfer activity this summer now that Euro 2020 is in the past.
Thomas Tuchel has been eyeing plenty of options as he looks to sign his very first player since replacing Frank Lampard in January.
In his short time in charge, Tuchel has already won the Champions League in a marvellous effort, but the work has started again ahead of the new season.
One of the main priorities is the arrival of a striker with Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland top of the wish list but he is proving difficult to prise away from the Bundesliga outfit.
Mirror Football brings you Thursday’s latest Chelsea transfer rumours and gossip.
Haaland issues response
Erling Haaland has opened the door on a potential blockbuster transfer by refusing to rule out a Borussia Dortmund exit.
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl was recently quizzed about the potential of Haaland going to Stamford Bridge, reaffirming their belief he will remain with the team next season.
“Haaland to Chelsea? I read about it, but for us nothing has changed: we have plans with Erling for next season, he and his agent are aware of it. We expect him back this week,” Kehl said.

Reports have suggested that Chelsea are one of the teams Haaland could imagine himself at and remained coy when asked about the possibility of him leaving Dortmund.
BILD via Football.London report that after asking Haaland if he will leave Dortmund, he opted to remain silent, simply offering a smile in response.
Blues ‘table €100m offer’ for star
The Blues are in need of attacking reinforcements ahead of next season, and following his stellar showing at Euro 2020 for Italy, Chiesa has been identified as one.
The 23-year-old, who initially spent last year on loan in Turin, was a star for the Azzurri as they went on to lift the trophy on Sunday at Wembley.
And Juve appear to be keen to keep him on their books, having taken a hard-nosed approach to dealings with Chiesa, despite Chelsea’s best attempts to get them to sell.
Zouma asking price set
Stamford Bridge bosses slapped a £25m price tag on the head of back-up defender Kurt Zouma, according to RMC Sport.
The Frenchman made a total of 36 appearances last term, but the bulk of those came during Frank Lampard’s reign as Tuchel switched things up.
Zouma is now in the last two years of his contract, and has been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma on loan.
While that is a possibility for the unused member of France’s Euro 2020 squad, it’s thought that Chelsea would prefer to cash in on him and raise the £25m they can use to bolster other areas of the squad.
